Our Reason

Organic waste possibly represents the biggest available and under-utilized energy resource in the world today. Landfills, municipal food waste, wastewater facilities, industrial food production, forestry industry, agriculture or aquaculture. An un-seemingly endless supply available.

It all represents a tremendous source of net zero carbon energy and CO2 capture, and until recently, limited commercially viable technologies have been available at scale. Whether it is for capturing methane effectively, creating biofuels for transportation, green ammonia for shipping, e-fuels for the aviation industry or net-zero carbon biochar for metallurgy.

The good news are that these technologies now actually exist. And by optimally connecting them in Circular Ecosystems, we will create massive impact, make a big difference, and build very rewarding shareholder value – It might seem utopic - We just don’t think so.

Our Idea to Solve the Problem

Build, own and operate fully integrated Circular Economy BioEnergy Parks with optimized materials extraction and Carbon Credit Recovery Systems.

Business Development

Each project has an initial Business Development Phase, with a multi-disciplinary team participating. This stage is funded by Utopia / Partners. Based on the outcome of the Feasibility Study, the Project is presented to the Investment Committee / Investors.

Financing

The Financing is a combination of Equity and Debt financing by project, established as separate SPV’s, where local ownership is appreciated in addition to the Utopia position.

EPC Delivery

The EPC delivery is overseen by seasoned Engineering Teams, organized by Discipline, reporting to the Steering Group / Board. Delivered as a paid consultancy project to the particular SPV, and securing professionalism, speed, and arms length distance.

Build-own-operate Or Bioenergy As A Service

As each project and situation is unique, we are flexible with regards to ownership positions. It varies from large municipal initiatives where our approach is ”Bio-Energy-as-a Service”, to building asset value in Build Own Operate models with partners.
